Stoosbahn
At the very heart of Switzerland, a world record-holding technical innovation awaits: the steepest funicular railway in the world leads from Schwyz up to the car-free mountain village of Stoos. The journey there is an experience in itself. The Stoosbahn reaches a gradient of 110% (47 degrees)
Stoos Ridge Hike
The ridge path linking the Fronalpstock and Klingenstock peak is one of the must stunning high trails in the central part of Switzerland. It offers a 360-degree view of the Ten Swiss lakes and countless alpine peaks of central Switzerland along the trail.
The “Stairways to Heaven” are the most beautiful panoramic views of the hike, located just before the Furgelli-Hütte.

The Stäuber wasserfall is a glacier waterfall in the Maderanertal (Silenen) in the region Uri, Switzerland. The Stäuber waterfall drops down over multiple stages and is over 130 meter high.
Relaxing music of the water along with other nature sounds sets up one of the most incredible scenes in Switzerland.
A peaceful ambience in the middle of the nature. Stäuber is a very powerful waterfall near Unterschächen (Klausenpass) in the region Uri, Switzerland.
The lake at Lungern, where the water is of drinking quality and up to 23 degrees, is perfect for bathing, and also has a small swimming pool area with a fine sandy beach and a long water slide.
The mountain lake, formed by a dam, is popular with pedalo riders, fishermen and, thanks to reliable winds, with yachtsmen and windsurfers. One of the nicest paths for walking or cycling is the gentle circular route around the lake. Bikes can be hired from the station in Lungern.
Glacier 3000, located at the highest point of the Vaudois Alps, is open all year round for winter activities for all. The destination in eternal snow offers terrific views from snow-covered mountains in the south to the smooth foothills of the northern Alps.
Walk on the glacier ice without a guide or special equipment on a prepared trail. After the hike, enjoy the suspension bridge and alpine coaster.

Alpine Coaster

Canyon Swing Grindelwald
Launch yourself off the 90-meter-high platform and experience weightlessness for only a split second before dropping into an epic freefall over the rushing white water of the Lütschine river. You’ll swing between the narrow gorge walls at 120km/h before slowing down. This high-thrill Canyon Swing in Grindelwald is one of the boldest, most heart-pumping adventure activities in the Swiss Alps.
Lauterbrunnen is situated in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. With its 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, colourful alpine meadows and lonely mountain inns, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland.
Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Mittelland towards the Vosges, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand metre peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch 3,454 metres above sea level, you can feel it with your first step: this is a different world. It’s one you have to experience.
The top of Europe tag is because Jungraujoch is the highest railway station in Europe.
A trip on the Gelmerbahn is an experience like no other, with a turquoise mountain lake awaiting you after the rattling 12-minute trip backwards up the mountain.
With a gradient of 106 percent, it is undoubtedly the steepest open passenger funicular railway in Europe. Originally built to transport building material weighing several tonnes, this technological masterpiece now offers an unforgettable rail experience.
‘Gelmerbahn’ is a mountain rollercoaster offering unbeatable high-alpine scenery.

Once you have reached the top, you can tour around the wild, romantic Lake Gelmer or a hike up to the Gelmerhütte.
Rhone glacier and Ice Grotto are popular attractions on the Furka pass on way to Lake Gelmer.

Switzerland’s only cogwheel railway with daily steam operation has been thrilling visitors since 1892.
A steam experience not to be missed. Best view on the turquoise Lake Brienz and of more than 600 peaks.
It is probably one of the most scenic train rides in Switzerland.

The Great Dolomites Road is a truly spectacular driving road through some of Europe’s most beautiful mountains, blessed with lush green meadows, dramatic rocky peaks, and lively alpine towns.
It crests two epic passes between Bolzano and Cortina d’Ampezzo as it winds its way through the UNESCO-listed Dolomites, known as the pale mountains.
The road is well maintained and reaches a maximum gradient of 12 percent. It twists and turns, traversing around some of the highest peaks in the range, and passing through ski resorts and mountain villages along the way.
The Dolomites are a series of mountain groups in the Italian Eastern Alps characterised by their composition: they are made almost entirely of the mineral dolomite. This is what gives them their famous pale colour.
The Tre Cime Di Lavaredo (Three peaks of Lavaredo) are a bizarre and striking alpenstock belonging to the Sesto Dolomites, the most north-eastern mountain group of the Dolomites. Due to the special shape, these three pinnacles are world-famous and are considered to be the symbol of the Dolomites.
These marvellous rock cathedrals are UNESCO World Heritage Sites because of the unique mountain cultural landscape of outstanding natural beauty, characterised by the carbonate sedimentary rocks, i.e. the dolomitic rocks.
The Cadini di Misurina (2,839 m) are part of the Eastern Dolomites and are included in the fifth group recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
It is located in the municipality of Auronzo di Cadore, in the province of Belluno, overlooking magnificent Lake Misurina.
Situated 1,519 metres above sea level, it’s a beautiful alpine lake with gleaming emerald water, surrounded by spruce trees.
It’s particularly scenic thanks to the Dolomites towering behind it, which adds to the drama of the place.
The vibrant colors and crystal clear water that you can expect to see on a sunny day are simply stunning.
This small mountain lake is known as the fairy tale lake of the Dolomites.
Santa Maddalena (St. Magdalena in German) is a village in Val di Funes (Villnösstal) in South Tyrol, Italy. This small mountain village is home to the historic Santa Maddalena Church, which is one of the most popular photo spots in the region. It’s also the start of an excellent panoramic hike.
The Santa Maddalena Panorama trail traverses meadows, pockets of forest, and historic Tirolean farmsteads along narrow footpaths as well as low trafficked paved roads.
The floating city of Venice, one of the most extraordinary cities in the world was built on 118 islands in the middle of the Venetian Lagoon at the head of the Adriatic Sea.
It seems impossible for such a grand city to be floating in a lagoon of water, reeds and marshland. You have to be there to believe it.
