Over the Alps and Into the Dolomites – A epic road trip through Switzerland and Northern Italy
It began with the thunderous Rheinfall near Zurich, Europe’s largest waterfall, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.
In the serene, car-free village of Stoos, we rode the world’s steepest funicular — the Stoosbahn — before hiking the Stoos Ridge Trail, a surreal experience that felt like walking on the edge of a dream, surrounded by clouds and endless peaks.
From there, we journeyed to Grindelwald and Interlaken, where alpine beauty met postcard perfection. In Engelberg, we ascended to Mt. Titlis, and just as we stepped off the cable car, soft snowflakes began to fall — a moment of pure wonder.
Crossing into Italy, we drove the legendary Great Dolomite Road, weaving through breathtaking mountain passes. Lago di Carezza shimmered like a gem, and the sweeping meadows of Alpe di Siusi and the iconic spires of Val di Funes left us in awe — landscapes so stunning they barely seemed real.
Our whirlwind day in Venice brought a touch of romance, complete with the quintessential gondola ride through its quiet canals. On the way back to Zurich, we took the scenic Flüela Pass, a fitting finale of alpine drama and serenity.
Every twist, tunnel, and mountain pass on this journey felt like a scene from a dream — an adventure that defined pure freedom on the road.
