The Memories

The Experience

We witnessed the Rhine Falls near the German border. With falls drop of around 23 meters, the Rhine Falls are a stunning natural spectacle. The water flows below the viewing platform and standing on it feels surreal.

Next, We did the ‘Stoos Ridge Hike’. Hiking from one peak to another (Klingenstock – Fronalpstock) was as exciting and unique as it sounds. This was not just a regular hike, every part of it was extraordinary. We saw several lakes on the hike and the views were breathtaking.

We explored Interlaken and the beautiful mountain valley of Grindelwald. Spellbound by the grandeur of the Staubbach Falls in Lauterbrunnen, we explored the valley which is home to 72 waterfalls. We were so lucky that a cold wave hit Switzerland and experienced snowfall in September which is very unusual. Playing with snow like a child felt amazing. The Italian leg of the journey commenced in Milan and went budget shopping. The old town was charming and architecture was majestic.

Lake Carezza with the dramatic Dolomites in the background looked epic. We hiked to the Alp Di Siusi and explored the Val di Funes. The sheer, jagged cliffs and unusual, pointed peaks, which rise dramatically from their surroundings makes The Dolomites special and stand out. We all were fascinated by the brilliance of these grand works of nature and catching sight of it was an out of this world experience.  The trip concluded in Venice where we did the iconic Gondola ride and got some amazing photos. The entire city is built on a lagoon. It is as magnificent and grand as it could be and you have to be there to believe it.

We also drove along the Flüela Pass from Susch to Davos in Switzerland. It is recognised as one of the most scenic drives in the world and has featured in Top Gear and other travel magazines.
