“Norway, You Stole Our Hearts” – Chasing Fjords, Snow, and The Midnight Sun —Our Once in a Lifetime Epic Norway Road Trip
In June 2025, we embarked on a road trip that would take us from the urban heart of southern Norway to the windswept edges of the Arctic Circle—a journey through waterfalls, mountain roads, mirror-like fjords, and the surreal glow of the Midnight Sun. We began in Oslo, where long summer days lit up the city’s clean lines and cultural gems. From museums to fjordside cafés, the capital set a calm and stylish tone for the journey. Our stay in Oslo was nothing short of luxurious—thoughtfully designed, modern, and deeply comfortable.
Next, we drove west to Bergen, the city of seven mountains, where colorful harbors and sea-salt air framed our days. From there, we moved to the tranquil valley of Flåm, nestled between steep cliffs and cascading waterfalls. Our countryside stay felt like a dream. A cruise through the Nærøyfjord, one of Norway’s most dramatic and narrow fjords, left us floating through a landscape carved by time. At the Stegastein Viewpoint, we stood high above the fjord, suspended in silence, surrounded by clouds and space.
The journey north continued into postcard territory. Driving the Eagle Road, we climbed hairpin bends with panoramic views at every turn, stopping for photos at the breathtaking Eagle Bend Viewpoint. Higher still, we reached Dalsnibba, where snowy peaks rose above a deep blue lake, glistening in the late evening sun.
In Geiranger, we took a cruise through the UNESCO-listed fjord, passing legendary waterfalls like the Seven Sisters, as cliffs towered on either side. Then came the stretch we’d all been dreaming about: the Atlantic Ocean Road. A marvel of engineering and nature, its graceful bridges danced over the sea, delivering dramatic views and heart-pounding excitement. It was truly a highlight—a bucket-list dream fulfilled. We paused in Trondheim, a historic and youthful city, before continuing our journey northward. Crossing into the Arctic Circle, we stopped at the Arctic Circle Centre to take photos, gather souvenirs, and mark the surreal moment where the sun never truly sets.
Then came the Lofoten Islands—rugged, remote, and unforgettable. We spent three nights there, wrapped in golden light under the Midnight Sun. The experience was otherworldly, but what truly took it over the top was our outdoor Jacuzzi, perched on the edge of silence, facing dramatic peaks and glistening water. Soaking under the midnight sky, laughing and marveling at how far we’d come—it was unreal, magical, and an absolute thrill.
From Oslo to Lofoten, through fjords, high passes, and glowing skies, Norway offered a journey not just of distance, but of soul. It was more than a road trip—it was a dream in motion.
