How a Road Trip with My Mom Became the Start of My Life’s Dream
Last year, I went on a road trip that changed everything. It wasn’t just another journey — it was a dream come true for my mom, who was 63 at the time. She had always wanted to see Switzerland once in her lifetime, and in November 2023, we finally made it happen.
We started in Italy — driving along the Amalfi Coast, soaking in those dramatic sea cliffs and colorful towns. Then came the magic of Cinque Terre, where we wandered through villages perched above the sea, each one more charming than the last.
From there, we crossed into Switzerland — and it truly felt like stepping into a fairytale. Zermatt’s snow-capped peaks, Grindelwald’s cozy chalets, the calm of Interlaken, and the dreamlike valley of Lauterbrunnen — it was everything my mom had imagined and more. We watched the sun set over Zurich’s lake, took in the snowy heights of Mt. Titlis in Engelberg, and ended our trip in Venice, drifting through quiet canals as winter softly set in.
On the flight back home, I found myself in a random conversation with a stranger. We spoke about travel, freedom, and how some trips touch your soul in ways you can’t explain. That conversation sparked something in me — an idea that became my life’s calling.
