The Experience

A Journey Through Ireland: Timeless Beauty in May

In May 2025, I set out on an unforgettable journey through Ireland, exploring the country’s legendary landmarks and rugged coastlines. This was a recce trip. The adventure began in Dublin, where the city’s lively streets, literary history, and welcoming pubs offered the perfect introduction to Ireland’s charm. I did a pub crawl which was In-saaneeee !! Cheap drinks and crazy music !! Totally worth it.

Venturing into the countryside, I explored the dramatic ruins of the Rock of Dunamase, perched on a limestone outcrop with sweeping views of the Laois landscape. One of the sequences of the iconic 2010 rom-com “Leap Year” was shot here.  At Blarney Castle, I took part in the age-old tradition of kissing the Blarney Stone, they say those who kiss the stone get the gift of eloquence. The next stop was in the picturesque harbor town of Cobh, known as the Titanic’s final port of call.

In Northern Ireland, the haunting beauty of the Dark Hedges, famously featured in Game of Thrones, created a surreal and cinematic experience. The journey continued through the wild southwest, where I  hiked the scenic Gap of Dunloe, drove the iconic Ring of Kerry, and explored the coastal wonder of the Slea Head Drive.

One of the highlights was a boat tour to Skellig Michael, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rising dramatically from the Atlantic, where ancient monastic stone huts and sweeping sea views left a lasting impression. Further north, the otherworldly Giant’s Causeway, with its geometric basalt columns, offered a fascinating blend of natural wonder and local legend.

The trip concluded with peaceful moments in the rolling Wicklow Mountains and an evocative visit to the ivy-clad ruins of Ballycarbery Castle, tucked away on the edge of the Ring of Kerry.

This journey through Ireland in May captured the country’s essence—ancient, mystical, and endlessly captivating. For anyone seeking an offbeat adventure with a blend of natural beauty and history, Ireland delivers at every turn.
